Vimeiro Golf

Vimeiro Golf is a great course for anyone looking for a challenging, technical game without too much walking in between strokes. Although not a long course, Vimeiro Golf is famous on the Silver Coast golf scene for the quality of its greens and the demands they make on the player. The fairways are narrow and, with a river on one side and the rough on the other, there is little room for error.
The challenge begins with the very first hole which has great views of Silver Coast countryside to distract a player but demands accurate play to avoid playing into the hazards. Hole nine has an equal challenge, and if you enjoy that there are different tees to make a second round of the course without repeating yourself.
Ocean views
The course at Vimeiro Golf offers wide views over the sea to one side and cliffs to the other and is laid out in two halves on either side of the Alcabrichel river. The region around Vimeiro Golf is very rural with farmlands and vineyards, and is famous for its hot springs. Although set in the middle of the great outdoors, the course is just over 60 km from Lisbon and located right beside one of the sweeping beaches of the Silver Coast. Photographs © Vimeiro Golf course

Getting there:
To get to Vimeiro Golf take the A8 north from Lisbon for around 44 kilometres. Come off at junction 9 and follow signs for Lourinhã/Vimeiro. Continue along the N8. After three kilometres turn left at Quinta do Paio Correia and follow this road for around 10 kilometres, passing through Vimeiro, to Praia do Porto Novo. Turn right on reaching the N247 and Vimeiro Golf is on your left.
